SEPTEMBER 2008 - MOTHERS' UNION
Branch news and Wave of Prayer. The Branch will recommence its monthly meetings with the customary euchariston Saturday 13th at 10.15 am
The Cathedral Branch of the Mothers’ Union will recommence its monthly meetings with the customary eucharist and address by the Vicar on Saturday 13th at 10.15 am in the Chapel of Unity. As always, a warm welcome awaits any one wishing to come along and see what the MU is about.
Roberta McKelvey, as a Provincial Trustee of MU, was at the Lambeth Conference serving at the MU presentation stand, and met anew friends she had made at the conference before Easter which was held in Brisbane, Australia. Many of the bishops and their wives sought out the stand and expressed their gratitude for the work which the MU was accomplishing in their dioceses. This testimony came from the full spectrum of opinion represented at Lambeth. The MU is important as an instrument of unity in our Anglican Communion at this time.

Prayer - As we begin a new day
God our Father, thank you for the dawn of another new day.
You bring light where there is darkness,
You bring hope where there is uncertainty.
Keep us following You, the LIght of the World, As we tread hopefully on our journey through life.
As we travel along life’s way
May we recognise you in the people we meet.
Above all, we thank you for your Son who came, to show us how to live,
To die for our sins and to rise again victorious over sin and death.
Mould and make us worthy of your calling to be your servants,
Sharing with others their joys and sorrows,
Bringing peace where there is anxiety,
Showing love in thought, word and deed.
